Every school year, the seniors at Saint Louis High School receive a student identification card that includes the “silly” picture that they took on picture day. This year, however, that was not the case.
Students at SLHS received their personal student ID on Sept. 25, which included a small picture of themselves on the card. As for the majority of students who are not seniors, their student IDs this year were perfectly fine, because they do not get the special opportunity to take a “silly” picture on picture day.
So where did these unique images go? Well, nobody exactly knows for sure. “I went to Mrs. Kisser’s class specifically to get a sombrero so I could wear it in the picture. I came in here ready to wear my sombrero … I was very upset when I found out we couldn’t have that picture because they didn’t put it on our student IDs,” states senior Justin Rodriguez, upset with the amount of effort that was put to no use for these specific pictures.
Going along with the effort being put in for these pictures, seniors such as Zoey Clark even put money into props. “I was really irritated with the whole situation because I specifically ordered a pink bob wig for the occasion from Amazon. It was like ten bucks, and I didn’t even get the picture … they said that they would, and so it’s just really irritating that I wasted that money for no reason.”
“Our class has expressed displeasure in our photo IDs … Staff refuses to do anything to compensate us,” expresses senior Bethany Bowerman.
With no compensation from the event, many students of the 2025 graduating class are collectively upset about the situation regarding their student IDs. The images could possibly be available for the yearbook.
