Going into highschool, there are a lot of relationships. There are those couples that are good about not being touchy, and then there are those couples that can’t keep away from each other in the hallways.
PDA, or public displays of affection, can lead to problems in high school. Students have their own opinions on PDA. Some students say it should not be allowed at all, while others say that it is okay to have some in the hallways, but to make sure it is limited.
Sophomore Ashleigh Devine stated, “If I am being honest, PDA is very gross and so many people do it.” She later said, “Yeah, I get you like each other, but you don’t have to be on top of each other at school. Save that for your own time that’s not at school lunch.”
Another student, freshman Cole Grollimund, said, “I think PDA should be allowed in some cases.” He then went on to say, “If you are making out in the middle of the hallway then that would be a case of getting in trouble, but if you are only holding hands or doing something simple, then it should be allowed.”
Finally, junior Olivia Lane added, “I think PDA is gross. Nobody wants to see it or hear it and it should be something saved for outside of school.” Lane later said, “I personally think something small like a quick hug at the end of the day is okay, but cuddling on each other during lunch or anything worse is disgusting.”
Overall, it would be safe to say that there are not a lot of fans on PDA in school. Most students think it should not happen in school and that it is gross, while others think that it should be very limited during school hours.
