The movie of the summer was Twisters, and everyone was talking about it in school during the first week. Twisters came out in theaters July 19, and students had some mixed reviews on its success.
The first Twister movie came out in 1996, which took place in Oklahoma and focused on a group of storm chasers just like the new movie Twisters. However, you do not need to watch the first one to understand the second one.
Lillian Billings stated, “I thought the movie was great. I loved the soundtrack in the movie, and the quality of the movie was great, although it wasn’t like the original Twister movie.” Billings also added, “My favorite part was when Glen Powell came out in a cowboy hat in the rain. Overall, the movie was a 10 out of 10, and I will definitely watch it again.”
Another student, junior Tiger Russell said, “It was overhyped, but it was good. I don’t know if I would watch it again. Maybe I would with the right people.” Russell added, “The lady that plays the main character was cute.”
Finally, sophomore Lilyana Wing said, “I thought it was a really good movie. I thought it was cool how the tornadoes looked real in the movie.” Wing also added, “I liked how the producers changed the ending of the movie from the original movie.”
Overall, it would be safe to say that the new Twisters movie was popular for St. Louis High School students and many more. It would also be accurate to say that SLHS students had good things to say about the movie.
