Ms. Kaiser, an English teacher for St. Louis High School, has recently moved up to also be the Student Council advisor Aug. 26, following the departure of the former advisor, Ms. Everitt, for the school year of 2024-2025.
Kaiser said, “At first I was nervous about how much time and effort it would require. Then it actually made me very excited. I felt sort of revived. It felt really nice to have something new to work on with students who have a similar vision.”
Student Council Vice President Rebekah Ross added, “I think the student council will be more welcoming and enjoyable than before. I think she will allow students to be more encouraged to participate because she includes everyone and allows them to feel needed.”
The future of the student council is one to look forward to, Kaiser stated, “Right now I am really focused on getting through homecoming. We have talked about having a Snowcoming or some sort of winter formal to help break up the winter blues. I think the main things that we will do for the student body cannot be named yet, because we are going to focus on getting feedback from the whole student body on what they think could make the school better.”
The Shark Tank welcomes this change with open arms and people are excited to see what new activities and fun events the student council will bring for the new year and the years ahead. Their first major project will be Homecoming that will take place on Sept. 13.
