As the school year begins, the class of 2028 crossed the river to become freshmen Aug. 26, 2024. Although it’s a big step to move into a bigger school, the new freshmen made it through their first week at Saint Louis High School.
“I thought it was pretty smooth, and I was excited to start doing projects, meeting all my teachers, and seeing all my friends again,” said Rubie Perram, a freshman at SLHS. She then added, “My first instinct of coming to high school was kinda like flight or fight, I was always tensed about coming back. However, I look forward to joining clubs and sports this year. I’m also very much looking forward to homecoming.”
Freshman Aubrey McCulley was also nervous to come into the high school. She said, “Coming to high school, I felt nervous at first, but it was nice to know that I wasn’t going through it alone. The first week was fine and easy, which I’m happy about. It was a little hard to find my way around the high school at first, but after a few days, I got used to where I was supposed to go.” McCulley also said that what she is most excited for this year are the assemblies and homecoming.
Although coming to a new school can be hard, these freshmen seem to be getting everything down quickly. Their first day sounded great and it sounds like SLHS have another amazing year!
