The top ten seniors of the class of 2024 were recognized for their achievements at Top Ten Tea April 25, 2024.
Being a part of the top ten is a prestigious honor for graduating seniors, and St. Louis High School chooses to recognize these students through an event that highlights each of their accomplishments throughout high school. The seniors who made the top 10 this year include: Curtis Brashaw (valedictorian), Rowan Harris (salutatorian), Myah Pitcher, Rachel Jewell, Lexie Thayer, Kylie Acker, Lucee Mikek, Dominic Girard, Madyson Hartman, and Monika Borie.
The event consisted of a keynote speech made by the one and only Jay Puffpaff. Mr. Puffpaff highlighted the three “P’s” to achieve success in the transitions of life. Additionally, Mr. Kuhn and Mrs. March were tasked with talking about each of the ten seniors’ successes in high school as well as their life plans.
Hartman, a senior in the top 10, stated, “I think it was a very nice event. Mrs. March and Ms. Russell did a great job at setting up the event. I was grateful to make the top ten this year, and I’m glad that our achievements were recognized. It wasn’t easy getting there, but I’m grateful we all made it.”
Mrs. March has been a big piece of the class of 2024, with her son Ben March being in the class, not to mention she has worked with the class ever since they were in second grade. She stated, “This class was the first one I ever worked with, and it has been fun to be able to watch everyone succeed and do well. I thought it was a lovely evening honoring our top 10 students and all of their accomplishments.” She went on to mention, “My favorite part had to be Mr. Puffpaff’s speech. As someone who is older, and can look back at that transition [between high school and college] in my life, I believe he gave great advice.”
The next event that will be recognizing these seniors, as well as their peers, will be Evening of Excellence, held in the high school cafeteria May 9, 2024.
