Here at St. Louis High School, the first round of exams will start soon as the second marking period comes to a close. Just like every other time exams come up, stress for both students and teachers is at a high as both groups rush to make sure grades for the first semester are in order before exams. Here are some tips and tricks to help prepare any would-be test takers for their exams this season.
The dates are Jan. 18 and Jan. 19. Just the same as every other year, freshmen at SLHS will be experiencing their first semester exams ever, and many need some extra help from their teachers to properly prepare. So who else besides the freshman advisor and English teacher Mrs. Kaiser, to give some advice? Mrs. Kaiser stated, “Make sure you get the study guides done, not stressing out too much, and prioritizing what needs to be studied.”
In addition to studying, students can also go to bed early to get extra rest, so when they wake up they are fully charged and ready to ace the exams. Eating a healthy and filling breakfast can also help too.
World History and Civics teacher Mr. Nehmer said, “Study a little every day so you don’t overstress yourself.”
As student Scottlyn Fransico states, “Study for each class, chew gum while studying, and chew the same kind and flavor of gum while taking the exam.” This trick helps some students more than others.
