Ben March, a senior from Saint Louis, just became the first four-year all state medalist for the Sharks cross country team. This is a huge accomplishment for the program.
March wants to thank Coach Puffpaff and Aaron Bowerman for motivating him and pushing him past his comfort zone. March feels like it’s a good accomplishment to have because it could travel on to the college level, knowing you’re the first person in St Louis who was an all-stater all four years.
March gained many great memories throughout his high school career but he said, “My favorite memory was all the water football all the team played.” Since March has been running for his whole high school career, there’s been several colleges looking at him to run with them but he said, “I am looking at a full ride to Lansing community college.” Cross country can impact your life in many ways, as March described, “ Cross country has impacted my life by teaching me the importance of hard work and chasing your dreams.”
Coach Puffpaff thinks this an amazing accomplishment to have. Puffpaff said, “This accomplishment showcases his dedication and consistency in the sport.” Pufpaffs favorite memory of March is during the summer, with watching March’s commitment to take the next step in training and earning his results. Puffpaff said, “This accomplishment submits his legacy as a champion.” A feat like this takes a champions mentality, to always show up and perform your best in the biggest moments.” Puffpaff thinks March is ready for college and will use all the things he has taught him. Puffpaff also thinks March had an amazing high school career and feels like he’s ready to run in college, and he is excited to see him far into the future.
March has been looking forward to continuing his cross country journey at Lansing Community College next fall, while pursuing a degree toward finance or accounting.
