Horror movies are a part of Halloween, as they show experiences of creepy and disturbing scenes in the movies. Each person has his or her own perspective on these movies.
Multiple movies are coming out this year near Halloween, like Five Nights at Freddy’s, Sister Death, Night of the Hunted, and more. People can also be scared, or excited to watch these movies with different opinions. Some students think about horror movies as horrible, scary, or amazing. One student, sophomore Leia Firman, openly expressed her thoughts, saying, “I love horror movies and my favorite part is the psychological aspect of the movie. During Halloween, I tend to watch about three horror movies every day for the month of October. It really helps me get pumped up for Halloween. Though, I feel like some movies need to be more scary, as in being scared and just not grossed out all the time because of the gore in the movies.”
Not only does Firman have an impression of the scary movies, another opinion is by sophomore Devine Franciso, who has a some-what different perspective on these movies. She said, ”I like to watch scary movies, some of them aren’t that scary, they just freak me out. I don’t really watch that many horror movies during Halloween, but I watch a few here and there. I think some people would like it if they made the movies scarier, but for the people who don’t, they would have hated that.”
Each student has his or her own opinion and thoughts, but that’s not what is also interesting. Most of these movies can be found on television networks, like Netflix, Hulu, and more. In these networks, one can watch old movies that date back to the 2000s or 1990s. However, most movies aren’t allowed for teenagers because they have gorey images and are preferred for mature adults. So, are you ready for the spooky season?
