Theaters across the nation premiered the long-awaited film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour October 13, 2023.
Millions of fans who have missed out on the chance to go to the infamous Era’s Tour concerts now have the opportunity to experience it on the big screen. This is a two-hour and 48-minute film where theatergoers can dance, dress up, and even trade friendship bracelets. Not only is this film a fan favorite, but it is also a film critic favorite being rated 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. This is one of the 456 movies that have been rated 100%, which gives it the seal of perfection.
Student and avid Swifty, Gracie Lombard, had the opportunity to experience this film. She wasn’t able to secure tickets to the Eras Tour at Ford Field, so she compromised by getting tickets to the Eras Tour film at the NCG Alma Cinemas. Lombard remarked, “It was amazing. I wanted to go again but my mom said that we couldn’t. I didn’t feel like I was a member of the audience at the concert, but it did feel like I was on stage.”
Many promises were made by the cinema about what the experience was going to ensue. Lombard stated, “I wanted there to be [dancing, dressing up, singing, and friendship bracelets], but there was not. The people in my theater were really lame. They were sitting and not everyone was singing. However, the people next to me were singing.” That had more to do with the crowd rather than the theater. Lombard commented, “I got two Taylor Swift cups and popcorn buckets. They were also giving out mini posters and glow sticks. The experience was magical.”
Lombard’s final rating was as follows, “I would give it a 10/10. I really like it, but I just wish the crowd was a little more hype. I would have gotten up and danced if everyone else did.” Swifties can view the film until January 2024, and take Lombard’s word for it as she said, “I was enchanted to watch this movie!”
