The annual St. Louis High School Homecoming assembly was put on by the Student Council Friday, Oct. 6, and many students enjoyed attending to show their school spirit!
The Homecoming assembly is easily one of the most exciting parts of the school year at SLHS, so it was no surprise that many students were very excited about it. One of these students is sophomore and member of the cheer team, Alexis Hitsman. In fact, she said, “My favorite part of the assembly was our Homecoming routine.” On the topic of the best game at the assembly, Hitsman feels that the sibling balloon pop game was the most entertaining.
During the assembly, numerous games were played, and many students participated in them as well as a few teachers. One of these games was Chicken Run, where the participants duct taped squeaky chickens to the bottom of their shoes as one blindfolded person chased them around with a pool noodle. One of these participants was Olesya Mullins. She said, “My favorite game was the sibling one with the balloons, but I was in the chicken one and it was fun.” Mullins also explained that she enjoyed this year’s “Teacher Creature,” the skit that the teachers put on at the assembly every year. This year, the teachers were all stereotypical students who kept disrupting the class.
Another student, Aeralyn Leonard, shared her thoughts about the assembly as well. She said, “I liked only having half a day of actual school, and talking to my friends at the assembly. The teachers were funny, but my favorite game was the rubber chicken one.” Harley Mader, a sophomore, also enjoyed the assembly. Mader also participated in the cheer team’s performance, which won the “Team Idol” competition, or “Mock Rock” as most students call it. Mader expressed that he really enjoyed Team Idol this year, and the best game was the sibling balloon pop.
