Students and teachers got an unexpected surprise from their phones, Wednesday, Oct. 3, at exactly 2:20 P.M. and all classes were disrupted.
The nationwide test alert was blaring on and off during the seventh hour, and students and teachers were acknowledging their phones during the time while the sound was loud and obnoxious. The alarm lasted until the owner shut it off. Not only did the students have this alarm going on and off, all phones in the United States of America were playing the same sound. This nationwide test alert was to test the new type of alarm the United States will use in emergency situations.
Sophomore Gracie Lombard, said, “They should have taken into consideration that they were disturbing the school. I think they should probably figure out why it didn’t go off for everyone, since it only went off for about four people in my seventh hour.” Meanwhile, other students had different opinions about it. Sophomore Leia Firman, said, “The test made me feel a little nerve-racked, and it made me very anxious. I wish they had gone off later because the class got interrupted, and the focus of the students and teachers went off track.”
All students have different experiences and thoughts about the test, but this is not the only test that the United States of America has had. Multiple tests were done in the past to see if it was good and suitable for the country. There will be new tests coming up later, and students will have the same experience and thoughts about it.
