The Lady Sharks volleyball teams were back in action Wednesday, Sept. 27, on the road against Michigan Lutheran Seminary. Unfortunately, neither team came home with a victory.
The strong MLS team sadly defeated both of the Lady Shark volleyball teams that night. However, the JV team is using the loss to its advantage and preparing for their next matchup. Sophomore JV player Saige Chase shared her thoughts on the game. She said, “In our last game we won no sets, but I kind of expected that. We just got our brand new coaches Alyssa Laplante and Bri Alspaugh so I knew that that game would be rough, but we honestly didn’t play very bad. Our biggest struggle is that we need more communication.”
The varsity volleyball team also unfortunately fell short to MLS. Olivia Coffin made a few remarks about the game. She said, “We didn’t win any of the sets unfortunately, but we made such amazing comebacks. I thought we made very amazing plays and we had long rallies that made us super pumped. The biggest struggle we had at that game was not taking swings. We kept getting afraid of hitting into the net or hitting it out, so we stopped.”
Senior Lauren Gager had similar thoughts about the game. In fact, she said, “We didn’t start out the best, but we did come back and almost win the second set. The team’s biggest struggle is communicating with each other. My advice for the team is that everyone makes mistakes and it’s okay. We also have to forget about the mistakes we make and take it one point at a time otherwise we will not be successful.”
Come out and see the Sharks back in action Wednesday, Oct. 4, at home for an exciting matchup against Hemlock.
