The Shark Tank nominated some classmates for the Homecoming Court during the fantastic picture day, Sept. 13! During Picture Day, students also had a chance to vote for their homecoming nominees. Each grade had its own sheet of paper to vote for both girls and guys. The following day, the Shark staff announced who was in the homecoming court.
For the freshmen, the nominees were Merrick Bartlett, Jackson Schulz, Karson Tweh, Kenadie Henry, Maya Massaway, and Skyler Post. The sophomores were Xander Brock, Hayden Shattuck, Drew Challender, Saige Chase, Halle Hoyt, and Trinity Bergey. The juniors voted Dillon Downs, Nado Soto, Sawyer Wonch, Bethany Bowerman, Zoey Clark, and Rebekah Ross as their nominees. Finally, the seniors’ grand royalty are Curtis Brashaw, Dominick Girard, Charlie Lyon, Jaiden Dickman, Myah Pitcher, and Lucee Mikek.
One nominee, Trinity Bergey, had something to say about her thoughts. “I think it’s very cool being in the Homecoming Court, really a new experience for me. I think it would be super fun if I was actually a Homecoming queen.”
Another nominee, Saige Chase, said, “Being a homecoming nominee felt really cool and such an honor to be part of the nominee selection. When I heard my name on the speaker for being on court, I was just really surprised about it and was not expecting anything.”
One challenge for these nominees is outfit choices, as they try to dress beautifully with hope of being the homecoming winners. As the nominees prepare, students await to see who will be chosen to be the homecoming king and queen.
