The Saint Louis girls and boys cross country team competed in the first TVC Blue Jamboree Tuesday, Sept.12. The Sharks ran very well with the boys’ team finishing in first place and the girls’ team finishing second place. Lead runners for the Sharks were Ben March, Jaiden Dickman, and Landon Pestrue.
Dickman shared, “I was hoping to do better and place higher, but I am still pushing through it and working to improve not only as an individual but as a team. I think that the team will continue to improve over the next TVC meets.”
Dickman said, “I am most excited to try and run my new personal best this year. I’m enjoying my last running season in high school.”
Cross country coach Jay Puffpaff said they are continuing to work hard and are focusing on improving each day so they can be ready for the championship phase this season. “I’m rreally pleased with both the programs and their progress over the past several weeks, and I’m really proud of the runner’s attitude and effort throughout this season so far.”
Dickman is having some college scouts looking at her to run both cross country and track, and she’s even getting some scholarship offers for running. However, she is dreading the season. The Sharks cross country is back in action Sept. 15, at Spartan Invite where they will see the top ten teams in the state on both sides.
