This girls’ junior varsity season started off rough, but the team is back on track. The JV Lady Sharks lost to Ithaca but beat Standish Sterling Central High School, Nouvel Catholic Central, and Millington during the first two weeks of February.

The JV girls’ team has been executing well so far. They would like to work to improve as the season progresses and fix their weaknesses. Marlena Pestrue stated, “So far, I think that our season is going really well because even though we lost the first game, we keep improving. This year’s season seems very promising because of the fact that we have been going smoothly, besides the snow delays. I think that our biggest challenge this year will be against Hemlock.”

So far, this season has been free of restrictions from the government. Katrina Harbor stated, “I do not think that our season will be canceled. I am excited for the future of our season, and hopefully, we come out successful. So what if we lost our first game! We are doing great so far, and I hope that our enthusiasm will keep us going, as well as our energy.”

This year, the JV and varsity teams participate in games Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Harbor continued, “It honestly has been exhausting playing three times this week. Even though I am tired, I am always willing to play and work hard for the team. It is a blessing that we have a season this year, and that is all that I could ever ask for.”

The next game took place on Feb. 1, away at Valley Lutheran, starting at 6 p.m.
